🌿 Tree & Origin

• Comes mainly from Santalum album (Indian sandalwood) and sometimes Santalum spicatum (Australian sandalwood).

• Indian sandalwood, especially from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Mysore, is considered the highest quality.

Fragrance

• Rich, warm, creamy, woody, and sweet aroma.

• Long-lasting natural scent that becomes deeper with age.

Properties

• The heartwood (inner part) is what contains the maximum oil and aroma.

• Outer wood (sapwood) is pale and less fragrant.

• Older trees (30–60 years) yield the best logs with high oil content.
